Well, Betz another one of your birthdays has come and gone and I didn't get to make you a cake or give you a birthday kiss. Not that I didn't think about you all day yesterday!!! Twenty-two years ago yesterday our lives were blessed beyond measure. Your presence in our lives gave us almost 19 years of your silly antics, miles of smiles, and love.....sooo much love!!! But, because we love you so much giving you up soooooo is so very hard.....at times almost unbearable!!! We're going to send you some birthday balloons later today. Catch some and know they are sent with love and then send a few many miles away for someone to find so that someone we don't even know will find out that a very special young man lived and made a difference in the lives of his family and friends!!. Afterward the balloon release, we will have cake & ice cream to celebrate your life. I treasure each and every moment we had with you ..there just were not enough of them. Sending my love to you Baby....please send me a sign, I miss you!!!!!

Hi Cheryl... Thank you for sharing Brett's site with me. I'm so sorry for his death. The memory bears you made from his clothes are just amazing. What a beautiful idea. I had several little onesies that people had decorated by hand for our Kota. When he died, there was no way I could part with them. We've slowly been having various artists make quilt squares out of them and then having the squares added to memorial quilts. It's just being able to have that little tangible item...
Many miracles to you and it will be good to connect with you as we are doing the Finding Our Way session at MCLG.

....with one of your big grins & a hug this evening? Your Grandma left us this evening & it gives me great comfort and great hope to think that you greeted her with open arms!! I was selfish & didn't want to give her up, but she was tired. She knows how much I have missed you Betz, so I hope she gave you a hug from me!! I truly believe that I got a sign from one or both of you this evening to tell me that you're together. I pray that someday you'll both be there to greet me with open arms and I can give you both the hugs from my aching arms!!! Please send me more signs...they make me feel so much better. I love & miss you both so much. I have missed you Betz every moment of everyday for the past two years & 7 months and I miss your Grandma already even though it's only been a few hours. Please stay close to me and your bothers and sister and your Grandpa for a while....we need some extra love!!
Basketball/ Class 2003 Class 2003 (Friend)
Used to play basketball with Brett at the Park, right across from where he lived, never really knew him that well, but you could not have met a nicer person. I didnt generally get off work until late (around 10) but would always play basketball afterwards. One time he walked across and played on the court opposite of the one I was playing on and after about 15-20 minutes asked if I wanted to play..I sayed sure. When it was time for me to leave I could not find the keys to my car and it was dark so I was having troubles seeing in the grass. Brett walked back over to his house and grabbed a flashlight for me and helped me look all over the place, after about 15 minutes I realized I had locked them in my car. He offered to give me a ride to my house, but I had already called my sister to bring me a spare set of keys. That just shows how nice of a person he was, he had just met me only an hour before but was willing to help out in any way possible. For the next few months whenever I would turn up (around 10) to play basketball like clockwork after about 5 minutes I would look over and Brett would be walking across the field with a basketball to play also. I considered us friends at that time and the day I heard of his passing I can honestly say I was deeply saddened, my condolenses to you and your family. Close
